This was a whopper. I was hired by On Q Financial to help with UX & CX, but quickly became their sole WordPress developer. And did they have a project. The main goal of the site was to get organic traffic and become a hub of information around mortgages using the 10x Content principle. Second to that was the site needed to fly. They wanted the site to load up to 20% faster than the competition.
Despite some big setbacks (content, design, and programming happening simultaneous; a major issue with a translation plugin; and just a bit of plagerism), we achieved our goals.
